Sleep on It: Forebel in the Seaweed Hotel Room

What if a hotel room showed you everything seaweed can already do today? That’s the idea behind the Seaweed Hotel Room. And now it’s open at Vattenfall’s Dutch headquarters in Amsterdam, with Forebel inside! This is already the sixth stop on the room’s journey. Every stop brings the story of seaweed a little closer to the people who walk past it, sit on the bed and pick up the products.

A ROOM FULL OF SEAWEED

The room was officially opened by Helle Herk-Hansen, Vice President Environment at Vattenfall, and Cindy Kroon, CEO of Vattenfall Nederland. It’s not a showroom. It’s a hotel room, filled with products that show what seaweed can already do today. Not a future promise, but something you can see and touch right now.

OUR SOCKS ON THE BED

Our products, partly made of Lyocell/SeaCell, are part of the setup! SeaCell is a lyocell fibre made from wood pulp and seaweed, known for its softness and breathability. Proof that a sustainable sock doesn’t have to feel like a compromise. [photo of winter socks on the bed] [photo of the box with Forebel socks]

STRONGER TOGETHER

Eric Roosen, co-owner of Forebel, was there for the opening and took the time to talk with Helle Herk-Hansen. Thank you to the European Seaweed Association and Vattenfall for bringing this story to life, and to everyone in the sector who contributed their products. The more of us share it, the further the story of seaweed reaches.
